Weeks before the official first day of Spring 2025, Grower Direct Farms has already been gearing up for warmer weather. As the earliest Pansies began to bloom in the greenhouses on February 19-22, GDF employees, Sofia Murzin and Connor Shults, ventured out to Hartford, Connecticut’s 44th Connecticut Flower and Garden Show. As New England’s only 2026 major flower show exhibition and show, more than 40,000 visitors from CT and out of state came to the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford to experience the sights and smells of spring before the snow has even melted.
Among the 150,000 square feet of live garden exhibits and vendors was the fundraising booth for the Connecticut Greenhouse Growers Association. GDF joined Kurtz Farm, Geremia Greenhouse, and Castertano Grenhouses to run the booth fundraising for the CGGA, which is a non-profit organization that represents the Connecticut Greenhouse Industry. The CGGA is a vital resource of support and advocacy to GDF. Connor and Sofia enjoyed representing GDF at the booth, meeting customers, and discussing all things flowers as attendees stopped by with their gardening questions. GDF looks forward to connecting with our customers again at the Connecticut Flower and Garden Show next year, in February 2027.
